It’s Obamamania out there and I for one want to take part! Our pal Obama is everywhere these days and his lead is just increasing by the day. I mean, we all know that there is going to be a massive turnout of folks yelling “yes we can” as they stampede through the voting booth, so why not go with it? The Obama folks are already picking out paint samples for the white house, conservatives are competing over who will be the first to release their blogs and articles about why McCain lost, and the good folks in the media are waiting with bated breath to say “President Elect Obama.” This is Obama’s party, so just sit back and enjoy the show! (Oh, also, you may want to start hiding some money in the pillowcases, those tax hikes can be kind of brutal.)
Lights, Camera, Obama!- Our pal Obama is getting ready for his “closeup”. In an unprecedented move, the Obama campaign has decided to spend Soros’s money, oops I mean “his small individual contributions” on a half hour of network prime time shortly before the election, according to The Live Feed. I just hope this ad buy is as riveting as Huckabee’s show on fox, because if it is, well we’re doomed for sure! Who can resist that level of charm and charisma?
Obama Has Already Won People, So Just Deal With It- I mean really, you pesky conservatives actually want a vote on this election? Well, according to Politico your just wasting your time because, get ready, Democrats are predicting a landside. Like Howard Dean would say, “they are going to take Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Ohio and the whole nation, Yaw!” So seriously, don’t bother showing up in droves to vote because, well, I’ve already planned an Obama victory party and that would really mess up my plans. So please, be pessimistic and stay home, that’s what good American’s do. We don’t want to upset Dear Leader, um, I mean President Obama.
Final Thoughts- See, why be pessimistic about the election when you can just flow with it? Admit defeat, stay home, and enjoy the “change.” Our current ruler Oprah Winfrey has already anointed Obama as “the chosen one” by endorsing him, so let us bow and be grateful for our imminent ruler.
So, are you sensing the sarcasm yet? Look guys, the way I see it we either do our best and fight for victory, or we become like the lazy slugs who eat bon bons and mindlessly allow our mood and our vote to be determined by the media. You either accept the media brainwashing thats going on or you fight it. If you are going to fight it, fight it all the way until you can’t fight anymore. If you are worried about this election, why don’t you do something like, I dont know, volunteer and call some folks in swing states. You have to make a decision for yourself and forget the media and the noise. You are accountable to you, are you doing all you can do for a McCain victory? That is the only question, you can’t change what others do, but you can decide to fight for yourself and your family. Or you can join the “extravaganza,” your move. Until next time…

Right on… RIGHT ON! YOU GO GIRL!! Conservatives needed a little dose of “what for” and you gave it to them in a way that makes us laugh AND take a reality check at the same time. The Obama CAMP is BLUFFING and we are caving to their bluff! Let’s call them OUT. The truth is, they are SCARE spit-less and the media is acting like maniacs trying to calm the CONSERVATIVE FEVER that Sarah Palin has stirred up… it’s not over yet– let’s get out there and take back our country!

No one really needs to vote at all because ACORN has taken the hassle out of voting. They have already registered enough people and submitted ballots so even if you had any energy left to actually go to a polling place, your vote won’t count anyway.
Isn’t this all so GREAT!

What a great way to underscore the ridiculousness of defeat before an election even takes place. Obama is running scared and he is hiding behind the frantic cries of the media claiming he has already won– while at the SAME time writing his political obituary with words like “if he looses it will be because of race”… conservatives are more fired up than ever because Obama is the worst kind of terrorism– the kind that destroys from within under the guise of “change”. Great Blog Nancy.

Well said, that was a humorous post with the wakeup call we all needed.

I am 85 and a life long Republican but I for one will either stay home or hold my nose and vote for Obama. Why? Over the past few days (and weeks) Sen. McCain has shown himself to be a very angry and desperate man. He scares me. It hurts me to say it but I do not thing he had the temperment to be our President.
They is no way you can look at what is happening these days and say the Republicans are doing a heck of a job. I ready to give someonbe else a chance. That’s my opinion.

Proudvet,
I appreciate your opinion and your service, but I assure you you should be more scared of the man smiling and promising socialism then a fellow veteran. I suggest, humbly, sir that you inform yourself about the real culprits of the current financial crisis, namely the democratic congress who allowed the failed institution of Fannie and Freddie to continue despite warnings from the President. There are things with this current administration that I disagree with, but considering September 11 and all that this administration has had to deal with I believe they have done a fair job and history will judge this administration more fairly then you currently do. As a “life long republican” I would examine your conscience and do some research before you decide to betray your party. Unless of course you desire a bigger government, more taxes, and meeting with our enemies without preconditions. If you support this by supporting Obama, I rather doubt the “life long republican” claim. This is just my view though and you are entitled to do what you will.

I am always amazed when either side (Dems or Rep) blame the media for controlling how things are going. The fact is there are plenty of sources out there that do all kinds of fact checking. Additionally if the mainstream media fails to report on something the risk losing the ’scoop’ to the blogs or the competitor who does is too great.
I think the tendency is to lump anything you don’t like into the ‘media is blowing this up’ camp. I know when EVERY channel was reporting nothing but Rev. Wright 24/7 for a month Obama supporters felt the same way.
I do agree with your larger point that everybody should vote and fight for the policies that they support. That is what this country is about. I actually go into that here: http://anotherdamnblog.com/index.php/register-to-vote-so-you-can-bitch-about-politics/

I don’t blame the media implicitly, my larger point to my readers was this. Yes you see constant reporting on cable and nightly news about polls, and you see news pieces talking about a “landslide,” but don’t let this stuff get to you. Most media, EP, is liberal, you can read it in the op/eds of major papers or popular cable shows, hence the popularity of talk radio and alternative media. Today’s collumn was just about injecting some humor and saying “hey, you guys control this thing, so either get active or stop whining if Obama wins.” That was the major point.

Why are we even having an election? With Republicans like proudvet, we shouldn’t even bother. These are the same Republicans who stayed home in 2006 & let the House & Senate roll over to the democrats because they wanted to teach the GOP a lesson.
With Republicans like this, who needs democrats?

Amen.
